Founded by Marta Soggetti (b.1993) and Katerina Anagnostidou (b.1989) in 2019, Sistro duo is a percussion duo based in Copenhagen.
After many years of playing together during their studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Marta and Katerina have decided to carry out this project in order to keep playing together and to explore a new repertoire for this formation.
Their repertoire varies from classical music to new experimental music, with a particular interest in collaborations with young composers.
After their debut in 2021, they have been working on a site specific project with the Norwegian composer Erik Dæhlin in Asker (NO) that was premiered in August 2022.
In October 2021 they have been selected and invited to have an artistic residency in London and perform a concert at the renowned private concert series at 22 Mansfield Street.
Among their latest collaborations there are two commissions by Danish composer Mads Emil Dreyer and Icelandic composer Finnur Karlsson, that have been premiered last March in Copenhagen, and a new commission by Danish composer Jeppe Ernst which will be premiered in 2024.
